TINAKSITE SPECIMEN
This is the polished on the one side orange tinaksite specimen with carbonatite. Dimensions: 3.9 x 2.4 x 0.2″ (9.8 x 6 x 0.5cm). Weight – 1.8oz (50 grams). Origin: Russia, Irkutsk Oblast.
Some information about tinaksite:
Tinaksite a mineral found in northern Russia. Tinaksite can be grayish-white, yellowish, orange, or brown, and it often found in charoite. Its name derived from its composition: titanium (Ti), sodium (Na) potassium (K) and silicon (Si). International Mineralogical Association first recognized tinaksite as a mineral in 1965 (More information about tinaksite).
