Some information about lazulite:

Lazulite is a relatively rare mineral that gets easily confused with other, more well known, minerals. Lazulite is a mineral with a hardness of 6 out of 10 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness. These Monoclinicly structured gems are made of magnesium aluminum hydroxyphosphate, their full chemical compound being MgAl2(PO4)2(OH)2.

Lazulite is named from an Arabic word for heaven in allusion to its sky blue color. Crystals are more common than massive forms, but localities with gem grade crystals are scattered and scarce. The crystals can be well shaped and show a nice monoclinic dipyramidal to tabular form. Lazulite although most crystals are dull, some exceptional specimens can be quite spectacular.

Lazulite is reputed to be helpful for reducing stress and raising self-esteem. It is an excellent crystal for meditation (More information about lazulite).
