HAMBERGITE CRYSTAL
This is the grayish-white hambergite crystal. Dimensions: 1.4 x 0.9 x 0.4″ (3.6 x 2.4 x 1cm). Weight – 0.5oz (14 grams). Origin: Russia, Transbaikalia.

Hambergite is a beryllium borate mineral named after Swedish explorer and mineralogist Axel Hamberg (1863–1933). The mineral occurs as white or colorless orthorhombic crystals.
Hambergite occurs in beryllium bearing granite pegmatites as a rare accessory phase. It occurs associated with beryl, danburite, apatite, spodumene, zircon, fluorite, feldspar and quartz.
It was first described by mineralogist and geographer W. C. Brøgger in 1890.
