Dianite

Dianite found in 1997 in exactly the same place as another famous Russian mineral  charoite – in the Murun Mountains in Yakutia, to the north from Baikal lake. This stone became popular almost at once mostly because of its unique blue color, which could be of all shades of blue – from light to dark.

The stone named dianite after Princess Diana. Its structure is similar to one of nephrite (dianite is in fact an amphibole). That is why it often called “blue nephrite” or “Siberian blue jade”.
